Project Overview
HTC Sense is a flagship smartphone system that encompasses user interface and user experience design. Throughout the development process, we imbued each generation of the system with unique design elements, such as icons, wallpapers, themes, motion design, and applications, to create a distinctive user experience. Our mission was to provide customers with a premium user experience that reflected the core values of the HTC brand.

The Development of the HTC Sense System
I began working as a visual designer for the comprehensive HTC Sense system in 2012, responsible for providing UI and motion design, assets, themes, and wallpapers. Collaborating closely with UX designers, I ensured that our UI designs were seamlessly integrated with the overall user experience. Additionally, I played a key role in helping UX designers to deliver their designs to the engineering team, while also closely monitoring the entire development process to ensure compliance with design guidelines.
Motion design and prototype
Our goal was to deliver an exceptional user experience to our customers, and at the time, there were no convenient tools available to create seamless page transitions or to prototype and test the user experience. As a visual designer, I was responsible for designing and implementing motion that brought interfaces to life, facilitated user comprehension and engagement, and leveraged animation to test the effectiveness of the user experience.
Cross department collaboration and issues solving
The design team played a pivotal role in driving innovation, collaborating closely with project management to navigate schedule pressures, and working alongside the development team to assess feasibility, identify and resolve issues, and engage in compromise and settlement when necessary. As visual designers, we strive to engage with projects at the earliest possible stage and ensure that our communication is always clear, efficient, and effective, building strong and dependable relationships with our colleagues across the organization.
