Project Overview

The HTC Boost+ is an optimization app. users can manually scan and clean junk files for smartphone storage, also optimize memory usage. We provide a friendly environment that makes users won't worry about disturbing annoying ADs. The Boost+ has a Smart Boost function, which will automatically scan and clean junk files to maintain the best performance.

Furthermore, Boost+ offers a battery optimizer depending on the user's selection, and power optimization will always operate for these apps. The application provides the Lock app, which can provide users with a security key and keep the personal data and information of users safe. The Htc Boost+ is made for the HTC device and designed for other android phones. This action was a big challenge for the HTC company.

Responsibilities

Animation, Motion Design, Story Board.

Conducted a comprehensive analysis of competitor products to identify their strengths and weaknesses and leverage our advantages in the design. Collaborated closely with a UX designer to create wireframes and ensure optimal user experience. Worked in partnership with the product manager and engineer to ensure efficient design implementation.

During that time, we identified that the existing application was generating revenue through the inadvertent triggering of advertisements and may have potential security vulnerabilities. Our objective was to develop and provide HTC users with a secure and seamless software experience.

Design Process and Result

The design of HTC Boost+ features a clean and minimalistic approach using simple geometric elements with a flat style. I opted for geometry to create a seamless transition between pages for the UI motion. This project presented a challenge as it involved creating a full animation using code. However, I embraced this opportunity to push the boundaries and explore new possibilities. My inspiration came from water, which can be recycled and shaped. It also aligns with the Boost+ image, which aims to eliminate junk files and optimize performance. As such, the initial scenes depict splashing liquid to bring the entire UI system to life.

Motion concept and story board.

As the motion designer for the HTC Boost+ project, I was responsible for creating the storyboard and motion design in After Effects. I worked closely with developers to ensure that the animation was accurately implemented in the application. Communication was essential to avoid misunderstandings that could compromise the quality of the animation. I provided specific parameters such as object appearance timing, duration, and speed curves and fine-tuned them to ensure excellent quality.

Outcomes and Insights

Boost+ was a significant value proposition for the HTC M10 and was officially unveiled during the product launch event in 2016. The application has garnered widespread acclaim, with a 4.5-star rating on the Google Play store and over one million downloads. It is gratifying to note that many users now consider Boost+ to be a serious contender to Clean Master, the world's most popular optimizer app.
